10:00 AM - 10:55 AM DeeDee Queen/Will X. Uly Crotch-to-Air Chair Tricks
In Crotch-to-Air Chair Tricks students will learn safe entries, holds, and exits for shoulder balances and rolls onto and off of a chair. We will spend 15 minutes doing an active warmup, including core-targeting exercises that will both prepare students bodies for this physical class and help students identify the muscles that they will need to safely execute chair acrobatics.
The class will then pair off, so that students can spot one another. The remainder of the class will alternate between demonstration of different chair acrobatics moves and transitions, demonstration of safe spotting, entrances, and exits, and then time to practice each movement. We will learn up to five movements: two different entrances into a shoulder balance on the chair, a modified headstand on the legs of a chair, and two exits to the floor: a fake split and a backwards shoulder roll off of the chair.
We will spend 5-7 minutes at the end of class cooling down and stretching.
Wear something comfortable to move in.
